3 AC Repairs To Take Care Of Quick

If there is something wrong with your air conditioner you should reach out for repairs sooner than later. With that said, not every repair need will be as urgent as the next. For example, a dirty air filter might not require professional repairs within a short timespan but a refrigerant leak should be addressed ASAP.

If you need air conditioning repair in Frederick, MD, we are the team you can trust to get the job done. Just make sure you reach out to us to address the following AC repairs as soon as you notice them so we can keep your home cool and avoid an early replacement.

3 Air Conditioner Repairs You Cannot Delay

Let’s be honest, some repairs for your air conditioner might be able to wait a week to be addressed. There are other repair needs though that you absolutely need to get taken care of as quickly as possible before it costs you the entirety of your home comfort for the summer. These are three repairs you absolutely cannot delay.

  1. An iced-over evaporator coil: Over time your evaporator coil might start to get a little dirty. No big deal at first but then that same part of your system will start to collect a layer of ice on its exterior. This is a big issue. Having an iced-over evaporator coil is not a sign that your AC is just extra powerful. In fact, it will lead to the opposite of cooling comfort for your home. If you notice there is ice on the evaporator coil, turn the AC system off and contact us for service immediately.
  2. Refrigerant leaks: Refrigerant is the substance that cycles through your AC system to absorb heat from the air in your home and release that heat outside, creating cool air to keep your home comfortable. Over time, regular wear and tear may cause a leak in the refrigerant line or connections. This is bad news because as your refrigerant level gets lower it will lead to problems for the cooling process in your home until it can’t provide any cool air at all.
  3. A faulty compressor: Last but not least, we have the compressor. Responsible for compressing and cycling your refrigerant, if the compressor fails your air conditioner will be just about useless. The sooner you get your compressor fixed or replaced, the better it will be for your system’s efficiency and effectiveness, along with your home comfort.

Whether you have an air conditioner repair that can wait a few days or one that needs to be addressed as quickly as a technician can get there, you should only allow a professional to be the one to get the job done. A trained professional can properly diagnose the issue and get it resolved without any wasted time or hassle. This will also ensure you can avoid the early breakdown or frequent repairs that might pop up if you let an amateur try their hand at the task.
