Which Water Heater Would Serve You Best

There are a number of different water heater types available on the market, each of which is suited to a different set of needs. If you’re looking for a new water heater, you may be feeling overwhelmed right now by the sheer number of options. Fortunately, you don’t have to deal with it alone. Read on to find out which water heater might serve you best.

Tank Water Heater

A tank water heater is designed to store and heat a large quantity of water at all times, just in case it is needed. The system is operating day and night, all year-round. This makes it convenient, especially since the system is more difficult to completely exhaust with demand. However, it also wastes a lot of energy by maintaining a supply of hot water when it isn’t needed.

Tankless Water Heater

A tankless water heater doesn’t use a storage tank. Instead, it uses a heat exchanger similar to a boiler. Water is heated as it flows through the system on the way to the faucet. When the demand for hot water subsides, the water heater shuts itself off. This makes it more energy efficient than a tank water heater. However, it is also easier to overwhelm.

Heat Pump Water Heater

A heat pump water heater is a tank water heater with a heat pump coil attached to it. The system uses the heat pump coil to absorb thermal energy from the air around it, then vents the collected heat inside. This helps the system to operate without wasting energy.
